How to ask for fees without it feeling awkward

Most late fees are forgotten, not refused. A short, friendly message with the amount, the date and a way to pay gets answered far more often than a long one.

  • Send the first reminder two days before the due date, so it reads as a heads-up and not a demand.
  • Name the child and the amount, so the parent does not have to look anything up.
  • Put your UPI ID in the message so they can pay straight away.
  • For an overdue fee, say “please ignore this if you have already paid”. It keeps things kind.

Nothing you type here leaves your browser unless you choose to email the message to yourself.
