Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between ChesSync and the academy that signs up (“you”). The person who signs up confirms they may agree to them for the academy.
Plans and seats
Subscriptions are priced by active student seats. A seat is one active student profile; admins, staff, coaches, families, batches, materials and reports do not use seats. You can add seats at any time and pay only for the time left on your plan; fewer seats apply from your next period.
The free plan and trial
The Free plan gives every feature for up to 5 students for 40 days. Paid plans start with a 10-day free trial. One Free plan and one trial are allowed per email address and per phone number. When a free period or a paid period ends unpaid, the academy becomes view-only until it is paid.
Payments, refunds and cancellation
Prices on the website do not include GST, which is added at checkout where it applies. Nothing is charged automatically: you pay each invoice from inside the app. Payments are not refundable once made; our Refund and cancellation policy explains this and the mistakes we always put right.
Your data, and children’s data
You own the information you add. We process it only to provide the service, keep each academy’s data separate from every other academy’s, and delete student data from the live application when you delete it. See our Privacy policy.
Most students are children. Before adding a student’s details, you must have permission from the student’s parent or guardian, and you confirm this when you sign up. You are responsible for that permission and for using the service in line with the law that applies to you, including laws protecting children’s data.
Payments between academies and families
Fee payments go directly from families to academies through the academy’s own UPI, bank or payment details. ChesSync is not a party to those payments and never holds that money.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to send messages people did not agree to receive, to upload anything you have no right to share, or to try to reach another academy’s data. We may pause an account that does, and will tell you why.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell academy admins by email or in the app before the change applies.
